"Whatever it takes" means designing and installing the right system in a particular circumstance, offering comprehensive service and standing behind our work. "Whatever it takes" also demands a commitment from everyone at General Heating and Air Conditioning, Inc. We continually seek to upgrade our problem-solving techniques and skills through training and membership in local, state and national trade associations. Our technicians are craftsmen; they are the best in the business and are proud to be involved in setting the standards for our industry. "Whatever it takes" is our avenue to "success", and at General, we measure our success in terms of our customers' satisfaction.
Service Territory
General actively pursues business throughout the state of Wisconsin. Additionally, on a selective basis, we have successfully completed projects in Iowa, Minnesota, Illinois and Indiana.
History
General has been providing professional HVAC services to commercial and residential customers for over half a century. In 1949, a pair of dedicated individuals formed a business partnership to provide repair and maintenance of oil-fired furnaces and boilers. From that small service entity we have since evolved into a full-fledged mechanical contracting firm offering customers design, installation and maintenance of complex and sophisticated HVAC systems. In addition, we have complete mechanical piping and industrial sheet metal capabilities. Over these many decades we have emerged as the premier mechanical contractor in south-central Wisconsin. We incorporated in 1963.Effective January 1, 1994, General became a wholly owned subsidiary of the Hooper Corporation. Hooper is an employee shareholder-owned diversified specialty contracting company offering services in the areas of electric power, plumbing, power / process piping and custom fabricated metals. Hooper, also based in Madison, has been in business since 1913 and enjoys a long-standing reputation for quality and reliability throughout Wisconsin and adjoining states.
