Two separate and distinct orientations exist at Hooper Corporation. Each new employee is met with an initial orientation. During this phase, the worker is provided with company expectations, work procedures and project specific safety training and personal protective equipment. In addition, all new hires are screened through a national background database.
Hooper Corporation realizes that no other individual can influence a project's safety performance more than the foreman. A Supervisor's Orientation is provided for all newly hired supervisors and a refresher for those that currently hold that position. Company expectations, supervisor responsibility and accountability, and management training is provided.
Company Safety Manuals are updated on a regular basis to include the most recent information available for management and field safety policies and guidance. Due to the risk inherent with operating a large fleet of vehicles, a Fleet Safety Policy was adopted in 2001. This policy identifies driver eligibility based on past personal driving history and assigns points for each moving violation. Persons above a specific point total are not able to drive company fleet vehicles.
